The Air Cargo Clearance System (ACCS) enhances the efficiency of air cargo processing. It enables the Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) to provide rapid customs clearance services to legitimate trade in India.

Chennai Airport is the third busiest airport in the country in terms of cargo handled. Established in 1978 and spread over 19.5 acres, it today has a capacity to handle 11,02,373 metric tonne of cargo every year.
